Parenthood is awesome!!  I highly recommended marriage and now I highly recommend parenthood.. Truly an amazing responsibility and humbling to participate in the life creation process..  There's a certain adrenaline rush knowing I'm a father now..

Looking forward to seeing you guys in December..

"Humility is perfect quietness of heart," Andrew Murray once wrote. "It is to expect nothing, to wonder at nothing that is done to me, to feel nothing done against me. It is to be at rest when nobody praises me, and when I am blamed or despised. It is to have a blessed home in the Lord, where I can go in and shut the door, and kneel to my Father in secret, and am at peace as in a deep sea of calmness, when all around and above is trouble."

We're coming up on our three year anniversary in China later this month.  Crazy, how fast time flies..  But I think the previous quote best expresses our China journey thus far... To be at peace internally when everything around you is utter chaos... We probably would not have learned this lesson as quickly living in SoCal.. And for that we wouldn't trade this experience for anything... No regrets..

Btw, no baby yet.. We are a few days past the original due date which was scheduled for 8/8... The feeeling right now is like when you're at the top of Free Fall and you're anxiously awaiting the drop not knowing when it'll happen.   We'll keep y'all posted..

After an international assessment of fathers' involvement in childrearing, the British charity Fathers Direct recently determined that men have nipples so they can calm children by suckling them in the absence of the mother's nipples.

They found this out based on two decades of anthropological research by one Professor Barry Hewlett, who studies pygmies of the Aka tribe in northern Congo.

MO: Deep down, I think all men want to believe that our nipples weren't created by accident without a special purpose.  If not for show and good looks then the rationale of nipples serving as a substitute pacifier will have to suffice.

Shanghai - Officially Home

Bev and I made our most significant Shanghai investment to date.  We bought a beautiful BBQ grill!!  It is a dark green color so we've decided to call it the 'Green Monster'.  It is an exquisite piece of work hailing from the BBQ heavens of Guangzhou, China (I wonder if we should've quarantined it??)  It took me a while to figure out how to piece everything together since the instructions were in Chinese.  So check this out.. 'Green Monster' has an attached lid and has a small table top area on both sides to put dishes and plates on..  We also coupled the 'Monster' with the ultimate BBQ tool kit.. This kit has everything you can imagine..  spatula, tongs, things to poke corn with, skewers, etc...  Life is good again.. Sigh..  We are finally home..
